Stacking tangles... And tiles...

Meer - Mi2 - Mr. E
Meer was new to me. What a great tangle! I really love how the little sparkles makes such a huge difference in it's appearance... It was a bit of a challenge to draw it spiraling though!
I had to look up Mi2, it's one of the tough ones to remember if you don't use it regularly, but it's such a pretty tangle!

This is always a fun challenge and usually it really is a challenge to get the two patterns mixed!

Stacked!
I've seen these tangled stacks around and it looked like so much fun I just had to try for myself!
And it really is fun. Also very relaxing and zenful.
It's just tangle after tangle after tangle... Just hold the pen and it flows out on it's own...

The zentennial and the return of the zendala...

Vacation time... So very soon...
Last day at work tomorrow and a very busy day, then Saturday we go camping. Yay!
That usually means no internet, and maybe even no cell coverage (WAHH!)

So I wanted to get a final post in before we're off. I didn't want to miss the 100th String Thing! And not the return of the zendala dare either!

A very big congratulations to Adele and an even bigger thank you for all the work she puts in these great challenges!
Adele Bruno made a lovely 100 inspired string and ditto tangle for this very special challenge.
This tile simply just drew it self.
Pure zen.
I love when that happens!

Erin is back with her zendala dares. Lucky us!
This template took some thinking.
As Erin thankfully pointed out, it has an uneven number of triangles. Had she not, I would no doubt have had the same problem she did as my first thought was paradox or betweed. That would make a cool effect. But not with uneven numbers.

The solution to me was five empty triangles. Of course they weren't empty long...
Problem solved... Next problem was all those ovals... To get them even... Not a chance...
So I 'cheated' again and just used some of them...

I love the look of Paradox, but it didn't have enough contrast...

Out comes the colored pencils... Some more solid black... Heavier shading...

Now I am happy.
I really didn't think I would get anything out of that template. And that is exactly why I love this challenge...

That was not my only problem this week...
The inchie prompt had me staring at the paper. And the twinchie I just rushed and sadly do not have time to make it like I wanted...

This is the first time I have been completely blank on an inchie prompt... Probably because I think noses are kinda nasty...
And how do you draw a nose so it looks interesting or cute or just nice?

But it is a challenge, so I tried... My son likes to dig for gold... So I drew that... ;)

I realized this one has deadline while I'm away, so I had to do a quickie...
In stead of tangling as I wanted I just colored it in...

Zen in the sun...

It's here!
The sun, the heat... Summer... Finally...
Just as we were about to give up hope it arrived.
So I had a little zen in the sun, and some of it with my trusty microns...

B-string with B-tangles...

A B to see... Get it? I'm so witty when it's this late... ;)

B-string with a whole lot of B-tangles is how I tackled Tuesday this week...
Be Vee, Bales on a string, Borbz, Btweed, Buttercup, Beadlines and two more that were new to me along with Be Vee, but I cannot remember the names right now...
Added some dangles as all the white space inside the B were poking at my eyes... I also tried for a drop shadow, something I think looks so amazing when I see it done, but man, it is hard to get just right.

I'm already contemplating how to attack next weeks C-string...

Tripoli - Tearce - Tracery

These were all new to me. I have seen Tearce used several times and really liked the look. I like it even more now that I have tried it.
Tripoli is so versatile I will also be using that again for sure.

Last weeks entry in my journal.
The backing paper is a paperbag that came with some washi tapes I bought on ebay. I thought it was cute so I put it to use.

Tackling Tuesdays again!

Tackle it Tuesday... It's back!
And with a new theme... Alphabet strings.
This week: A... With A-tangles...
I decided to tangle around an A silhouette.
Arukas, aa's, all boxed up, beadlines, squid, dandi... And some random doodling...

Just two new to me tangles this time, so I went for it...

It took me a while to get Mel Mel flowing... And I found that I like it better in a row than in a circle...
Somehow everything just wanted to be flowers in this tile...
I could not resist the cruffle butterfly...

I had fun with this as a string! I will have to try this in a bigger scale too... And with color...

Another new to me tangle. But this one was easy to learn and fun to draw. Great tangle. Great challenge!

If you like monotangles go check out Suzy Mosh's new Sunday challenge "Tangle Me 3". This week starring Cadent.

Go ahead and take a bite... (Z)enjoy....

Inside my journal
Last week in my journal... As always I layered tiles with notes and other stuff underneath...

Kelly's challenge is almost into it's second half of 2015 and I'm still going strong! Who would have thought that? Not me for sure.
I'm very happy that I still manage to do just a little creative every day. By now it's sure to be a habit hard to get out of.

For the love of triangles...

Two tangles that were both new to me. I love both!
Triangles with triangles and lines... What's not to love?!
And the string is a perfect match...

Getting kozy with inaura...

It got way too late last night, so I skipped posting yesterdays work... I know myself well enough to
know I can't just do the post and then go to bed...
I always just have to take tiny peek at what everyone else have posted... And just one pin... Or just two... And then I blink and it's been an hour...
Am I the only one with this problem??

So here goes... Yesterday I did a tile for...

Tangles: Kozy, Inaura

I am completely in love with both these tangles. Inaura is so great to draw and I love the layering.
Kozy is so beautiful! It can be a delicate flower or angel wings or a sea shell... Love it!
I spent a lot of time playing around with both the tangles.

And today...

Tangles: Inapod, Mooka and a whole lot of lines...

I had some difficulties with this template.
Finished one but had put way too much in it. So I trashed it, started over with some minor changes and left some white space.
Now I'm really happy with it.

Note, that Erin over at The Bright Owl who is offering this amazing challenge is having a giveaway, actually it's a double giveaway, this week! So if you're in the US, make sure you pop by...

Happy Valentines Day...

Valentines Day is not really a day we celebrate in Denmark...
All though the stores try their best to make it so. There's all kinds of hearty-things for sale... Don't they just wish they could make a moneymachine out of that day too...

Well, I guess it's kinda getting to me... Little hearts have sneaked their way into my work today, turning everything into Valentangles... <3

Now hang on, because I was so in the zen zone today... Here we go...

Tangles: Buttercup - Puf - Pozer - Inapod
Great challenge. Inapod is now a new favorite of mine.

Tangles: Arukas, Inapod, Rixty, Wavy Border, Heartline, Tipple

This is only my 3rd zendala, but I'm really loving this way of tangleling...

This is actually my second submission as I really was not happy with the first one, I decided to give it another go. I like this so much better!
I went all in on pink and hearty tangles...
String: I drew one
Tangles: Wist, Heartvine, Heartline, Warts and Wobbles, Poke(heart)leaf...

Black Zentangle...
String: I drew one
Tangles: Isochor - Rixty - Msst - Sooflowers (In love!) - Heartvine - Heartline

A little Valentines gift for myself today... White Gelly Rolls...
Fished out some black scraps from the trash and off I went...
I really, really love drawing with these... The little dots are so perfect... I need to get me some black tiles!

For the love of fridays...

 I love friday...

Friday means tomorrow I get to sleep in...
Friday means the kids can stay up till they fall asleep cuttling up with their mom...
Friday means take-out - no cooking!!!

But most of all, friday means 2 hours home alone... 2 hours of uninterrupted creative time...

I love friday...

And I have been quite productive today...

The worlds worst mom...

#whimsybykelly2015 day 30
Tackle it tuesday #58
It's a string thing #77

... That's me... It feels like that today...
My beautiful, sweet little guy was telling me about his day.
How his legs were hurting because he had walked through the city (there's a lot of hills...) visiting several places and back to school...
He told me all about what they did and where they ate their lunch...
Hey - wait a minute... Lunch... Not from the fridge... From his schoolbag...
Bag! Oh, S***... So he's been carrying his schoolbag with all his books around all day...

All because his mom forgot about the their outing...
And to make matters worse his lunch was leftovers of his favorite dish which he was going to heat in the microwave they have in the classroom... He ate it cold! And a yogurt... Which must have been kinda lukewarm...

Not a word of complaint from him... Oh, how I love that boy...

Thankfully I had a plate with a freshly baked sausage roll and an apple/chocolate muffin ready for him when he got home...
So maybe I'm not the worst mom on earth... But pretty close...

Now let's just forget all about that and move on to some happy colorful zen stuff...

Yesterday's promt in the #whimsybykelly2015 challenge was to make something colorful...
So that's what I did today!
I have to say it's so not the last time my colored microns will find their way into a tile!

Tickled to Tangle: It's a string thing #77
String #77
Heartstrings - Heartvine - Luv-a

I'm very happy with this tile and very glad I resisted the urge to fill the spaces in Luv-a with tipple - it was a battle...
And what a lovely string to work with!

Artful creations: Tackle it Tuesday #58: A B C
String #6
Agua - Box spirals - Cruffle - Copada

Have you noticed string #6 is the letter S if you turn your tile?
My daughter told me while I was tangeling this... Never crossed my mind...

S just happens to be the initial of both my kids names so this one is for my amazing son!
I'll have to do another tomorrow for my daughter... Great string!
And again I love the colors...

Thanks to Kelly for the color promt...

Well worth the wait...

#whimsybykelly2015 day 23
it's a string thing
That's new to me

Apple Pie
- The worlds quickest and easiest pie... Ever...
180 celcius - 30 min

100 g butter
125 g sugar
100 g flour
1 tsp bakingpowder
1 egg

While melting the butter mix everything in a bowl. Mix in the butter.
Pour the batter into a pie pan.
Now fill it with whatever your kitchen holds of tasty stuff... Berries, fruit, chocolate, nuts... Just go nuts...

The batter will rise so there's no need to push the filling down, just lay it on top of the batter. Into the oven it goes and watch the tasty magic happen...

Today I added a little coconut flour and chopped almonds to the batter. Not the last time!

Now while your mouth is watering for all of 30 min waiting for pie you could do like I did and... Tangle of course!
