Challenging Monday...

I have seen Narwal used several times and always thought I'd have to try this cool tangle so this was the perfect opportunity...
Numerous pieces of paper later I finally started to get it down...
I really love this tangle just as much as I expected and I will absolutely need to play around with it more another time!

And then to the actual New To Me tile...
After Narwal I decided to go for two easy patterns. Swags and Rattia and were both easy looking enough that they didn't need practice. Both great patterns!
The two patterns were from this weeks featured artist Neil Burley.

This tangle took some work for me. I tried really hard to come up with variations but that was not easy at all... I tried shading it different ways and played with the corner circles...
Finally I added a splash of color to spice up the pattern...

But in the end I like the result - so it was time well spent!

It's great learning new patterns, but tomorrow I think I'll stick to tangles I know, that is after all a bit more relaxing! ;-)

New Challenge: Tangle Me 3...

That's right!
A brand new challenge by Suzy Moshier. This one is monotangles with a tangle chosen by Suzy. The catch is you have to do at least two variations... Hence the name... Tangle me 3...
Now doesn't that sound fun?

I think so too!
Even though Cadent is not exactly a favorite of mine I decided to give it a go. I do love monotangles!

Cadent string - Original cadent with squares - cadent with black pearls and double lines and finally a very simple cadent with nothing in the corners...
See... I tangled you four!

Thanks to Suzy for another great challenge!

A week of challenges...

Bunzo is new to me and I have to say I really like this pattern.

Artist Focus - Lily Popcheff
Rixty is an old favorite...
Riki-Tiki and Chechain by Lily Popcheff are both new to me and the latter is now a new favorite.

That's New to Me #25: "F"
Flora by Sandy Steen Bartholomew
Facets by Nancy Pinke
Both of these great tangles were new to me. I'm already a fan of Facets, it looks amazing when shaded...

Be sure to check out Suzy's new monotangle challenge "Tangle me 3". It airs today!

Diva's Weekly Tangle Challenge #222: "Colors of the Rainbow"
Riki Tiki by Renee King
Dust Bunny by Margaret Bremner
I do so enjoy tangling with color...

Inside my journal...
My journal has some extra pages, so I added some zendala dares...
Of course afterwards it occoured to me it would be wiser to remove extra pages as my journal is already mad thick and we're only half through the year...

I have been searching the net for a journal with a bigger spiral so it wont be as bulgy, but so far I'm coming up short...

Favorite things...

It's great to see more people participating in this biweekly twinchie challenge!

The zendala dare is one of my favorite challenges. Unfortunately there has been no new challenges for a long time now...
Which is why I started from the beginning and am now up to dare number 4.

A peek into my journal with some zen, inchies, books I've read and under the tile and zendala is layered more stuff I created and also notes about what we have been doing.
As you can see I'm also revisiting one of my absolute favorite tv-shows.

You should go check out Joey's "Inside my sketchbook" and participate. I love sneaking a peek into Joey's sketchbook and it would be fun to see more join in.
It doesn't have to be an actual sketchbook - anything goes!

A week in color...

I really enjoy drawing white on black so this challenge was right up my alley...

joey's weekly tangle challenge #61: Tangle a flower shaped string
Zendala Dare #3

Inside my sketchbook
My son sat down next to me while I was tangling and asked if he could make a tiny drawing too!
He only wanted to color in though so I drew him a string and this is as far as he got before something else caught his attention...

Watching him I just got an urge to color in, it's so relaxing. So I made one for myself too...

This weeks inchie I made on a piece of an actual envelope...

An Inch and a twinch...

My fifth submission for the twinchie challenge...

Inside my journal

These are the pages from week 19...
I love the pattern on this green paper... It's quite tangly...
Under the tiles I wrote little quotes from the (mouths of my kids) and what we did this week...

Usually I have drawn my inchie before seeing the others posted. This time though I was a little behind so I sneaked a peek...
That's why I went of my first thought, the movie reel and/or popcorn/coke. That idea had already been covered in great ways...
So mine turned into this in stead...

A week in pictures...

Another week has flown by fast as lightning!
Here is some of the creative stuff I worked on this past week...

I have a hard time with mumsy... Compensated with colors and lots of glittery gelly roll!!
It was fun after all and I like the result despite the tricky mumsy...

Thursday my son will be 7! Incredible as it seems like just yesterday he was a baby!
I have been working on a birthday sign for his door...
Something I did a few years back and it's now a tradition of which I am lately reminded daily by my daughter... The signs stay on the door till their next birthday, so I try my best!!

Finally I got this one done...
I found the animal letters on pinterest... Let's just hope he'll love it even though it's more cute than cool...
The balloons I made with washi tape on paper...
It has been approved by the birthday committee... (Aka my daughter...)

I put my Sofie's Universe on hold because I saw these amazing dreamcatchers on pinterest made with a doily. I just really have to try it!

Inside my journal

Last weeks pages in my journal...

And last but certainly not least...

This was a tough one... It took a few tries...
But here's my diagram of my Zen...

Tangling rain in the sun...

It's summer today... Sunny and warm... Sleeveless blouse...
And a little tangling in the sun...
Tangling rain...

 That's New To Me #16: R-Tangles

Riveting, Riverstones, Roxi, Rain, Raindotty
The first two were new to me. I quite like both of them...

I am now up to round 30 on my Sofie's Universe.
This is so much fun and I am learning lots of new techniques and stitches.

An inch or two...

You might not know about this new biweekly challenge...
If you are a fan of Every Inchie Monday, like me, you'll like this one too.

All you need is a 2x2 inch piece of artwork, whatever your heart desires from the given prompt.
The two previous challenges was 'tree' and 'maze' and this one is 'Georgia'...

I don't know anything about Georgia... But I did get "Georgia on my mind"... I love that song...
So that's what I went with...

Georgia on my mind...
Micron and watercolors...
I'm not that familiar with watercolors, but I love using them so I'm sure in time I'll learn!
A touch of sparkly gelly roll too...

Again, micron and watercolors...
I really love the animal prompts...

For the love of robots...

Today was my nephew's 7 years birthday...
This was the card for the present containing a big box of Lego...

joey's weekly tangle challenge #56:

tangle a flower box or a baskit of bluebonnets...

This is my second attempt. I am really having trouble with baskit...

#whimsybykelly2015 day 108

Loving the spring time...

I have a feeling this very creative trip that I am on in 2015 will slow down over the summer... At least it seems that this amazing spring weather we have had lately is sneaking in and stealing my creative time...

On the other hand it is breathing pure joy into my soul... There is no thing as good as feeling the sun on your face...
And spending all day (or at least as much as is left of it after work... and before dinner, lunch packs, homeworks etc...) outside makes me, and thankfully my kids too, feel so wonderfully refreshed and relaxed... I'm sleeping like a baby... In fact some nights I'm fast a sleep even before my kids!

Don't you just love the spring time?
I do!
I would hug spring if I could!
I would hold on and never let go if I could!

Actually I wouldn't.... Summer means watermelons and ice cream...
I wanna hold on to summer!

I did manage to get a little creative though...

Tuesday I received an amazingly decorated letter filled with beautiful washi tape from Sarahiousplanz on Etsy...
So I just had to get to my journal and start using some of it...
These are the pages covering last week...

I am so in love with the flowery washi... And the date mark is also a washi tape...
The pages looked a bit empty... (Did I mention the weather?) So I printed some pictues from Sunday where we were playing with my son's building set...
My daughter build a dog, made it a name tag, a bed and a vet-clinic...
My son made a transformer that turned from a man into a machinegun... I made a few guns out of the leftover pieces which my son quickly deemed to also be transformers as they could be planes too...
Good times...

As usual I wrote a little about the past week under the pictures...

Under the picture of a book I read this week I wrote a little tiny review and I tucked some challenge tiles under some other challenge tiles...
I am really loving these little black tags I bought on ebay!

I worked on my Sofie's Universe... Just a few rounds...
When I took this picture I was working on round 26...
I am running low on the white... So I have finally made a decision on yarn and will hopefully find time to order some this weekend and have it delivered early next week and get started for real!
I can't wait!

Yesterday I trashed a couple of tiles... I just wasn't finding any Zen...
Thankfully today it went a lot better and I managed to make this little quickie for...

New tangle: Dandi
Not so new tangle: Queen's crown

Somehow I just feel this string calls for simplicity...

I hope you're all sharing the sun with me...

An inch of color...

It's spring and I just feel the need to add colors everywhere!

This inchie challenge is one of my favorites.
I am still amazed at how much I can fit into just an inch of paper...

Snow, spring and back to work...

Tangle used: Knyt by LyndelC

Round 21 is done. I had a little trouble as my popcorns was too much to one side, so I decided to start in the stitch before the one the pattern suggests. I hope this won't come back to haunt me on the next round!
*crossing fingers*

I am really loving this pattern. It's just the right mix of learning new but still repetitive enough that it's not too hard.
If only I could decide whether to go ahead and order the yarn the pattern suggests (it's pretty pricy with the shipping from UK to DK...) or try and pick something in a DK shop... I still haven't found something that's just right.

The pages for the past week is done. Even though this week started with snow it finished with spring, almost summer!
I felt the need for some happy spring feely paper...

As always my journal lets you play a little game of hide and seek.
Below the zendala dare you find my tile for the Tackle it Tuesday challenge and a bookmark made for Joey's weekly tangle challenge.
No books read this week, but I watched most of season one of the UK series "Fortitude". Very exciting, thrilling, horrific and with the most beautiful scenery filmed on Iceland.
Lastly a few notes on what we did this week...

On this page I made a pocket within the pretty paper storing tangled tiles and some photos from this week.
Below the picture of my Sofie's Universe is a little note on how far along I am.
On ebay I bought a pack of the cutest little tags and they are just perfect for my Every Monday Inchies!

I had expected to use up a second set of pages for this week. As we had the whole week off I really thought I would have done a lot more tangling and drawing.
But the weather have been just amazing which calls for outdoorsy playing with the kids and of course there's the holiday family visits, house full of kids most of the time... And suddenly the week is just gone!

It's been a great holiday and I'm feeling so good and relaxed and ready to take on work!
Tuesday show me what you've got!

The magic of zen...

Usually these zendalas just practically draw themselves... But not this one... I gave up on it twice...

But I still had a template among the papers laying around my end of the table... And today those ovals in the center were suddenly telling what they wanted and... voila!
It happened again. It's like magic!

Uncorked by Adele Bruno
Ovolution, Kozy, Nymph
Lawn Yawn by Molossus

Laced by Mary Elizabeth Martin
Lotuspods and Lilypads by Margaret Bremner
Lawn Yawn by Molossus
Lockar Curls by Ninna

Laced I have used a few times before, the rest were all firsttimers...
I really love lilypads and lawn yawn. Both aren't much to look at until surrounded by black, but then they look so great!
I wish I had skipped the lotuspods, I just can't get them to look as I want...
The lockar curls are right up my ally, I just love those swirls.
