Rhythm and cake...

What better way to show rhythm than by dancing?
Drawn with micron005 and then I let my watercolor pencils dance all over it...
If my skin was darker I'd totally have this color hair!

Mouthwatering layered cake...
In fact I got such cravings for cake that I asked my daughter to bake one. When sugar is involved she only ever has to be asked once!
So by the time I finished this little twinchie the whole house was smelling of delicious cake!
This is why I have kids! lol!

The next birthday in our household will be my daughters 10th, so since she's such a sweetheart, baking for her mom and all, I topped the cake with a 10...

Inside my journal...

Layering things to get enough room for notes about the pictures and some notes about what we did the past couple of weeks...

The pocket letter on the right was a blue/green themed one I sent off to Monique in Germany...

Monique is also a tangler, so I tangled her an ATC for the middle pocket...
There's also some die-cuts, ribbon, a bag of bling and brads, buttons, tea, washi samples, sticky notes and a little crochet pattern as she likes to crochet.

More zentangle on the envelope in the form of Hollibaugh...

New tangles in old books...

Static, Printemps, Poke root, Vega
I find Vega really hard to draw. And I couldn't remember it so I googled it and I found this amazing tile by Margaret Bremner (everything she touches is just amazing!)
Look at the way she drew Vega, it looks so cool, I just had to try it!

And while I was drawing the roundings I suddenly had the urge to try that with Hollibaugh which I was drawing yesterday for Joey's Challenge #71...

 Inside My Journal

I've been neglecting my journal lately. I just toss stuff in between pages. I really have to get something done because knowing me, if I get too far behind it'll seem endless and I'll never get it done...
My usual layering... Notes about books I've read and what happened during that week.

...

Yesterday I went shopping with my daughter. I love that! We both love looking at everything we pass... Something that drives the boys crazy... lol.
We went to a secondhand store and I found this beautiful old book...

It's an old woodmans book. It has to be pretty old as it's printed in Gothic which I just googled and learned they stopped doing around 1860 and by 1900 everything was printed in antikva.
So it must be over a hundred years old. And well read too. Stained and bend pages.

And would you look at that! It has tangles! Soooold!

Those pages are just begging to be tangled!

Vacation time is busy time...

Oh, I missed the deadline for this one. I tangled it last Wednesday...
Boy, how time flies by when it's vacation time...

I used Efilys as the string and surrounded it with a border of Equerre.

I brought out my watercolors for this one.

There's been way too little tangling going on here the past week!
So I let them rain down on this twinchie...

 Rain, Ripple, Tipple, Msst
(Hush! Don't tell anyone.. I kinda "cheated" a bit with this one and drew it in pencil first. Otherwise it wouldn't have been possible to go over and under like that...)

ATC #1 - For Swap-bot..

This is my first ATC which I made for a swap on swap-bot.
The theme was "Just a doodle".
I used some cardboard from an envelope that came from amazon with a book ("Wreck this book" - wonder when I'll find the time to get that one started! Pfft...). I really liked the color of it and thought it would look great with brown micron and white highlights. I used colored pencils for shading.

Tangles: Hurry, Printemps, Dandi, Fescu, Kozy, Tipple

It's a little weird sending this off into the world... But thankfully the Karen in Oregon was very pleased to receive it!

This is what I got in return, from another tangler.

I love the laced tangle and the middle that looks like a mandala.
A very lovely tile!

I have made my very first pocket letter this week too. Also for a swap. That was really fun and I will be making more definitely! I see how that can be addicting!

Last week I bought a chromecast and it came in this little box.
Nice and sturdy and such a lovely color...
Now it looks like this...
I decided to keep one of the inside dividers.
Now it holds inchie, twinchie and ATC sized tiles all cut up and ready for use...

Egyptian zen

Amazing how much it bugs me that I have not gotten all the challenges done last week and probably wont this week either...
The easter holidays can not come around fast enough if you ask me! I'll be home with the kids for an entire week AND a day! Yay!

I did manage to do the monday inchie yesterday and today I finished last weeks zendala dare which I have been working on during the weekend...
So thankfully I have been able to sneak in some zen moments in between playdates, visitors and visiting...
Hopefully next weekend will be a little more relaxed and at home too...

A quite popular subject for this weeks promt...

Kozy, nymph, iza,btweed, hollibaugh...

I was very much in doubt whether to fill in with black behind the Hollibaugh, but finally decided to call it finished...

Tangling my favorites...

Tangles: Gneiss, Hollibaugh, Isochor, Ixorus
 4 of my favorite patterns!

Today I finished page two in my tangle sampler book...
I tried to count them, kinda hard as they are all over the place, but there's over 60 on this page... That was rather surprising...

For the love of fridays...

 I love friday...

Friday means tomorrow I get to sleep in...
Friday means the kids can stay up till they fall asleep cuttling up with their mom...
Friday means take-out - no cooking!!!

But most of all, friday means 2 hours home alone... 2 hours of uninterrupted creative time...

I love friday...

And I have been quite productive today...

Lucky fingers...

Tried my hand at Joey's tangle challenge, litteraly...
Well, almost - it's my sons hand...

I was trying to do the lines in the palm with hollibaugh...
My son (6) likes to pick his nose so I put tipple on the fingertips, because, you know, sometimes he gets lucky...
And on the indexfinger I put joy, that's his favorite nosepicking finger...

I'm not going to tell him that though...
My daughter would laugh out loud if I had made it for her... So would my son, but when the laugh is on his account he gets utterly insulted...

It's incredibly amazing how these two little wonders we made can be so completely different...

(You're supposed to pretend you did not notice how many times I messed up my arukas...)

Creative whimsiness with Kelly...

Staying creative every day... Because we can...

Today my little man and I made rainbowloom bracelets...
Well I made one, after about an inch the little man was a little tired...

A snack and an ipad for the little man and a little time for my "One zentangle a day" practicing...
Poke root, festune, hollibaugh
I love hollibaugh, not so much the other two...

Yesterday... A new challenge, for me anyways...
Tangles: Hitched, flux and some butterflies just because.

The last couple of days... "One zentangle a day" book practicing...
Static, tipple, cresent moon.
Knights bridge and fescu... Wanted to use nekton inside knights bridge, but forgot...
Sleep deprivation...
I finished the inside front page in my 2015 journal... My very first zendala...
First day of the #whimsybykelly2015 challenge...
300 days of creativity... I'm going head on for the 364! I can do it. Sure I can...
My beautiful daughter asked me to draw her newest and dearest teddy... A puppyeyed baby giraffe... In a dress and tiara of course, it's a moviestar giraffe with the stagename Gina.
I said I will if you will.
She so cute... My daugther. And the moviestar...
That's how far we got before the moviestar had to get some beautysleep... There's always tomorrow...
