Sending birds to Sweden...

I think this is the first time I did something other than draw in this challenge!
I ripped a piece from an old Danish book page a bit smaller than an inch to allow the key to stick outside it...
The key I cut from patterned cardstock and attached with adhesive dots. And then just a little bling to top it off...

Zentangled ATC
This one I drew for a pocket letter going out today for someone who also likes to tangle...
The brown cardstock was wrapped around a pack of yogurts. I thought the color was perfect for some brown tangles...
Kozy - Jalousie - Inapod - Numph

I absolutely love owls! What a great theme...

I had nothing at all with owls. Thank God for my very good friend Google!
I printed images, some as cards, some to use on cardstock. Added some buttons and bling...
I really love making these!

This middle pocket is my favorite...

This is a one-time swap. So it's just a short letter. Since I am sending to Sweden I can write in Danish. Swedish and Danish are somewhat alike.
If there's words in Swedish I can't guess the meaning of I try to say them out loud. It's funny but somehow that makes it easier. Maybe because many words are alike but spelled differently...

Of course the envie has owls too. Never do anything halfheartedly! lol!

More outgoing mail...
Japan, Canada, Singapore and Thailand... I try to cover the entire planet! ;)

You might have noticed my favorite animals are cats and owls...

Rhythm and cake...

What better way to show rhythm than by dancing?
Drawn with micron005 and then I let my watercolor pencils dance all over it...
If my skin was darker I'd totally have this color hair!

Mouthwatering layered cake...
In fact I got such cravings for cake that I asked my daughter to bake one. When sugar is involved she only ever has to be asked once!
So by the time I finished this little twinchie the whole house was smelling of delicious cake!
This is why I have kids! lol!

The next birthday in our household will be my daughters 10th, so since she's such a sweetheart, baking for her mom and all, I topped the cake with a 10...

Inside my journal...

Layering things to get enough room for notes about the pictures and some notes about what we did the past couple of weeks...

The pocket letter on the right was a blue/green themed one I sent off to Monique in Germany...

Monique is also a tangler, so I tangled her an ATC for the middle pocket...
There's also some die-cuts, ribbon, a bag of bling and brads, buttons, tea, washi samples, sticky notes and a little crochet pattern as she likes to crochet.

More zentangle on the envelope in the form of Hollibaugh...

Loving pocket letters!

No one said it had to be a human ear!
I find human ears kinda nasty, so here's a sweet, soft, lovely, big kitty ear <3

Two by Two by Tuesday: Treasure
A good old treasure chest!
I colored it with watercolor pencils and used some glittery gelly pens for the gold and pearls.

After water...

Before water...
Sometimes I skip the water part of these watercolor pencils (not because I'm a chicken and scared I'll ruin it and have to start all over! Really!) but just look at the difference!

Swapping Pocket Letters...

This pocket letter is themed 'All about me'...
1. My country with a letter. 2. I love washi with washi samples. 3. A recipe for my favorite apple pie and a tea bag. 4. My favorite tv-show with pretty buttons. 5. My favorite color with sticky notes. 6 My favorite animal with cat washi, cat stickers and cat sticky notes. 7. I love to read. Book recommendations and book pages from an old Danish book to use in crafting. 8. Tangled ATC. 9. Tiny bag of my favorite candy!
All wrapped up and ready to go into...
...a pretty envelope and off to Gini in the UK.

Another pocket letter!
This one was to have only washi tape as goodies!
For the backside I printed out qoutes. This way it will still look pretty when all the washi samples have been taken out in case my swap partner likes to keep her pocket letters in a binder.

A pocket letter has to contain a letter! Decorated with lots of washi to go with the theme...
All wrapped up!
Into the envie and off to Sylvia in Illinois...

I really love making the envelopes even though they will probably get tossed in the trash. But hopefully she will have a moment of joy when finding it in the mailbox...
I love receiving pretty mail and always save it!

This envelope contains washi samples and a card that I forgot to take a picture of and don't remember at all what look like!
Hey, I just turned 40, I'm allowed to be forgetful!!
Whatever it was, Karen loved it so all is well... And she is saving the envie, yay!

Swapping a tea cup ATC. This was the second ATC I have ever made...

I have sent out another 4 swaps this week, so I am keeping busy! lol!

The last creative piece I want to show you is a card I made for a colleague whom I will have shared my employment with for exactly 10 years tomorrow!

Still trying to stick with the whimsy challenge of being creative every day in 2015!

Diving into mixed media...

A window you say? Well why don't we open it up then?
Cats, pretty flowers and lit candles. There are no better things found in a windowsill...

Inside my journal
I feel a bit like I'm neglecting my journal these days. There's so much I want to do and even though it's vacation time there seems so be so little of it... Time...
So again it is a bit rushed... But if I get more than a few weeks behind I'll probably never get them done, so better rushed than not at all...
The teary drawing I did on an old book page so I thought it fitting to use another old book page on the opposite side. I layered more tiles underneath the Girdy monotangle.

ATC #2: Tea for two...
What is much more exciting is my journey into mixed media...

Yesterday I made my second ATC, but the first mixed media ATC. (The first was 'just' zentangle.)
I made this intending to use it in a swap on swap-bot. But yet again I'm having attachment issues...
It's just so weird sending my stuff into the word when for the past half year I have crammed most of it into my journal.
As this is a first I will keep it to myself. So I made another! lol.

The backing is a piece from a cereal box. On that I glued a page from an old book I found in a secondhand store and painted it with white and some pearly white. Then I drew the teacup and flowers, added watercolor, cut out and glued them on along with a tiny teabag on a string and the word tea.
And then dabbed just a pinch of gold. I have to say I'm quite fond of it!
I just might have to make one with a teapot too...

This was fun! I have so many ideas for future ATCs I can't wait to get started!

Incoming from Swap-bot...
I absolutely love getting snail-mail!
Especially when it's so pretty as this one... Look at that pretty doodled envelope.
And such a beautiful Owl card she made me!
My swap-partner also sent me some tiles (in my favorite color no less) that she drew a string on. That is an awesome idea and I am stealing it for future swaps with zentangle partners!

I tangled one of the tiles today.
I am also working on another ATC...

Vacation time is busy time...

Oh, I missed the deadline for this one. I tangled it last Wednesday...
Boy, how time flies by when it's vacation time...

I used Efilys as the string and surrounded it with a border of Equerre.

I brought out my watercolors for this one.

There's been way too little tangling going on here the past week!
So I let them rain down on this twinchie...

 Rain, Ripple, Tipple, Msst
(Hush! Don't tell anyone.. I kinda "cheated" a bit with this one and drew it in pencil first. Otherwise it wouldn't have been possible to go over and under like that...)

ATC #1 - For Swap-bot..

This is my first ATC which I made for a swap on swap-bot.
The theme was "Just a doodle".
I used some cardboard from an envelope that came from amazon with a book ("Wreck this book" - wonder when I'll find the time to get that one started! Pfft...). I really liked the color of it and thought it would look great with brown micron and white highlights. I used colored pencils for shading.

Tangles: Hurry, Printemps, Dandi, Fescu, Kozy, Tipple

It's a little weird sending this off into the world... But thankfully the Karen in Oregon was very pleased to receive it!

This is what I got in return, from another tangler.

I love the laced tangle and the middle that looks like a mandala.
A very lovely tile!

I have made my very first pocket letter this week too. Also for a swap. That was really fun and I will be making more definitely! I see how that can be addicting!

Last week I bought a chromecast and it came in this little box.
Nice and sturdy and such a lovely color...
Now it looks like this...
I decided to keep one of the inside dividers.
Now it holds inchie, twinchie and ATC sized tiles all cut up and ready for use...
