The worlds worst mom...

#whimsybykelly2015 day 30
Tackle it tuesday #58
It's a string thing #77

... That's me... It feels like that today...
My beautiful, sweet little guy was telling me about his day.
How his legs were hurting because he had walked through the city (there's a lot of hills...) visiting several places and back to school...
He told me all about what they did and where they ate their lunch...
Hey - wait a minute... Lunch... Not from the fridge... From his schoolbag...
Bag! Oh, S***... So he's been carrying his schoolbag with all his books around all day...

All because his mom forgot about the their outing...
And to make matters worse his lunch was leftovers of his favorite dish which he was going to heat in the microwave they have in the classroom... He ate it cold! And a yogurt... Which must have been kinda lukewarm...

Not a word of complaint from him... Oh, how I love that boy...

Thankfully I had a plate with a freshly baked sausage roll and an apple/chocolate muffin ready for him when he got home...
So maybe I'm not the worst mom on earth... But pretty close...

Now let's just forget all about that and move on to some happy colorful zen stuff...

Yesterday's promt in the #whimsybykelly2015 challenge was to make something colorful...
So that's what I did today!
I have to say it's so not the last time my colored microns will find their way into a tile!

Tickled to Tangle: It's a string thing #77
String #77
Heartstrings - Heartvine - Luv-a

I'm very happy with this tile and very glad I resisted the urge to fill the spaces in Luv-a with tipple - it was a battle...
And what a lovely string to work with!

Artful creations: Tackle it Tuesday #58: A B C
String #6
Agua - Box spirals - Cruffle - Copada

Have you noticed string #6 is the letter S if you turn your tile?
My daughter told me while I was tangeling this... Never crossed my mind...

S just happens to be the initial of both my kids names so this one is for my amazing son!
I'll have to do another tomorrow for my daughter... Great string!
And again I love the colors...

Thanks to Kelly for the color promt...

Diva #202...

#whimsybykelly2015 day 29
I am the diva challenge #202

Another two new tangles under my belt... Yay!

DuoTangle: Chebucto vs Copada
I used string #8

Copada is really pretty and nice to draw - not so much chebucto...
It gives me an urge to find a ruler...

For "U" and me...

#whimsybykelly2015 day 28
that's new to me #4

The letter of the week over at SuzyMosh's That's new to me challenge is "U"...
There's not a lot of U-tangles... But the ones that are there are pretty...

I used almost all of the U tangles, they were all new to me...

Uni, Unyun (love that one!), Undling and Unme...  See all U tangles here...

Lucky fingers...

Tried my hand at Joey's tangle challenge, litteraly...
Well, almost - it's my sons hand...

I was trying to do the lines in the palm with hollibaugh...
My son (6) likes to pick his nose so I put tipple on the fingertips, because, you know, sometimes he gets lucky...
And on the indexfinger I put joy, that's his favorite nosepicking finger...

I'm not going to tell him that though...
My daughter would laugh out loud if I had made it for her... So would my son, but when the laugh is on his account he gets utterly insulted...

It's incredibly amazing how these two little wonders we made can be so completely different...

(You're supposed to pretend you did not notice how many times I messed up my arukas...)

A good cry...

Now that always makes me feel good!

How do you feel about subtitles?
If you can deal with them and get a chance to watch this movie...

"Silent heart" (Stille hjerte - It's Danish) by Bille August then treat yourself to a good cry and and certainly food for thought...
A very moving and heartfelt and also very relevant movie with amazing acting...
It grips your heart and does not let go till well after the sorrowful yet somehow happy end...

If someone you loved suffered from an incurable disease and wished to die with dignity and while she was able to breathe on her own...

Oh my, it's been quite a while since I shed so many tears...

Well... On top of that mouthful I really needed to sit down and draw a little - very little - as little as an inch...

Every inchie monday #4

... Off to practice the new tangles in Diva's challenge...

Thank you for commenting! I love to hear your opinion...

It's a record!

It really is... I got 7 new tangles under my belt today... Granted I don't have a zentangle to show for it... But I do have page 2 in my tangle sampler book...

So there we have it, all the tangles I know including 7 new ones...
I know there's more that I have learned and forgotten about... But you see, that will never happen again because from now on new tangles I learn, will get their very own space in my book...

My favorite of todays new tangles have to be cruffle and folds (found in a youtube video). And sez. And I was very happy to be reunited with Squid, I love the swirlyness (if that's a word...)...

Over at Tickled To Tangle I found Adele Bruno's tips for tangleling bales and just got an urge to get baling...
Here's my result so far, there's more to come for sure... This is really fun and I'm happy with most of the variations...
I'm thinking I want to try it with other tangles as well...

It is very tempting to just run through those basic bales like the wind. So I put in a few words to remind me of slowing down...
(And now I see I wrote deliberative in stead of deliberate... Bleh...)

Let it snow...

#whimsybykelly2015 day 24

Don't you just love saturdays?
How about saturdays with snow?
We do!
There's pretty much nothing that tops a landscape covered in white new snow...

The first snow of the year fell today... It will probably be gone by tomorrow... It was 5C out there this morning and the sun was sending down bright beems reflected on this wonderfully white new world...
Tomorrow it'll all be brown slush, so we tried to make the most of it...

Out we went and a new family member was born...

We named him Barbapappa Snow...

And of course, back inside after a cup of hot chocolate I just had to cut some snowflakes...
I never stop being surprised when unfolding a snowflake... It's just so amazing to see how just cutting a little here and there can turn into something beautiful...

The blue ones I cut today... I need some darker blue paper, that would look amazing...

These are from december... The lowest hanging one is my favorite...
The stuff in the window and on the wall is all my daughters handywork...
Exept for the blue owls, I made those when attending a glass art class. That was fun!

Inspired by Kelly, I started a tangle collection...
I don't have a neat coin collector binder like hers so I'm settling for a paper pad...

I really don't know that many tangles... Half a page more and I'll be done...
Some of these I haven't ever used in a tile, they're on there because they were in my "One zentangle a day book"... Some I've forgotten about even though I really liked them, so I'm loving this...
In the future I can flip through (my 2 pages... ;) and stop neglecting those poor tangles...
Plan for tomorrow: new tangle!

Well aren't I chatty today...
