Inchies and twinchies...

Catching up on my inchies!
Also catching up with....

I had fallen behind and missed the deadline on this challenge, but here we go...
Last week's prompt was grass and I decided to go the doodle way.
For China I decided on a little teacup.

Inside my journal

Wrapping paper from one of my birthday gifts turned into backing paper...
Layered tiles with room for writing notes about the week.
Pocket Letters are taking up my crafting time lately so the tangling is at a minimum... This is 3 weeks combined!
The zentangle tile is made on a tile that was sent to me in a zentangle swap. She drew a sting on it.
Great idea, I love it!
Tea cup and cat ATC made for swaps, but I made an extra for keeps!

It's not all that bad to combine some weeks. My journal is really getting fat! So every combined page means I can tear out a page and slim it down a little.
Next year I will probably make 2 journals so I can tear out half the pages and maybe it will get less bulky...

Swap book
What to do with the stuff I receive in swaps?
I saw on a swab-bot profile, can't remember who's, a book made out of incoming swaps. She only showed the cover, so I don't know how she did it.
But this is how I am doing it...
My very first swap! The tanned ATC is my outgoing. Below is my incoming.
The card can be opened and lifted to show the envelope below.

I really do not have the heart to just trow out pretty envelopes!
They make for a perfect background. Here I also added a picture of the envelope I sent out and a picture of the items I received as they were too many and too large to fit.

Washi sample swap so I added a little piece of the lovely washis I was sent.
Beautiful card and envie!
See how pretty my swap partner doodled the envie! and she made me an owl card in my favorite color! I love owls!
And funny, I also made an owl card for my outgoing swap, this time in Canada. I made a purple card as that was my receivers favorite color.

This book will be so fun to look through when it is finished!

Zentangle swap

Swapping a zentangle tile!
I drew a string on a tile and added it for extra.
My swap partner loved celestial images so I drew a sun for the card.

And the envie...

To the wall...

Oh my! It is really rough getting back into the daily routine!
After almost 4 weeks vacation I seem to have forgotten just how little time is left when the kids are in bed and the daily chores are dealt with...
8 weeks till fall vacation!!!! I'm starting a countdown...

Pocket Letters
Have you ever heard of pocket letters? I hadn't until just recently when I joined swap-bot! They were invented by Jeanette Lane. Check out her site here.

I made my very first pocket letter and sent it off to my swap partner in the US. There was no theme picked out for this one so I just found some pretty paper and decided on owls as I love to draw owls!

The back of the pockets holds crafty goodies like washi tape and ribbon samples, paper clips, buttons, stickers and sticky notes etc. I put a teabag in one pocket and a little bag of candy in another.
And of course one pocket holds a letter...

Finish of with wrapping...

And a decorated envelope...

I really enjoyed making this and have since made another that I am about to send off. I can't wait for one to arrive here!

Diving into mixed media...

A window you say? Well why don't we open it up then?
Cats, pretty flowers and lit candles. There are no better things found in a windowsill...

Inside my journal
I feel a bit like I'm neglecting my journal these days. There's so much I want to do and even though it's vacation time there seems so be so little of it... Time...
So again it is a bit rushed... But if I get more than a few weeks behind I'll probably never get them done, so better rushed than not at all...
The teary drawing I did on an old book page so I thought it fitting to use another old book page on the opposite side. I layered more tiles underneath the Girdy monotangle.

ATC #2: Tea for two...
What is much more exciting is my journey into mixed media...

Yesterday I made my second ATC, but the first mixed media ATC. (The first was 'just' zentangle.)
I made this intending to use it in a swap on swap-bot. But yet again I'm having attachment issues...
It's just so weird sending my stuff into the word when for the past half year I have crammed most of it into my journal.
As this is a first I will keep it to myself. So I made another! lol.

The backing is a piece from a cereal box. On that I glued a page from an old book I found in a secondhand store and painted it with white and some pearly white. Then I drew the teacup and flowers, added watercolor, cut out and glued them on along with a tiny teabag on a string and the word tea.
And then dabbed just a pinch of gold. I have to say I'm quite fond of it!
I just might have to make one with a teapot too...

This was fun! I have so many ideas for future ATCs I can't wait to get started!

Incoming from Swap-bot...
I absolutely love getting snail-mail!
Especially when it's so pretty as this one... Look at that pretty doodled envelope.
And such a beautiful Owl card she made me!
My swap-partner also sent me some tiles (in my favorite color no less) that she drew a string on. That is an awesome idea and I am stealing it for future swaps with zentangle partners!

I tangled one of the tiles today.
I am also working on another ATC...
